The Witness is an original 20" x 24" mixed-media acrylic painting created with layers of heavy texture, sweeping strokes of turquoise, green, ivory, crimson and black, and spontaneous flecks of color scattered across the surface.
A thick, poured green-blue border surrounds the canvas, giving the piece an almost contained sense of movement—as though all of the color and energy have been captured inside.
At its center rests an unexpected detail: an Anthropologie eye brooch, transformed from an accessory into the quiet focal point of the artwork.
Against the movement of the painted surface, the eye remains still.
