Before streaming. Before endless scrolling. Before everything was available on demand.
There were Saturday mornings.
Saturday Morning Static is an original 11" x 14" acrylic painting inspired by the wonderfully imperfect color and chaos of another era—the fuzzy television screen, brightly colored cartoons, cereal at the coffee table, and those slow weekend mornings that somehow seemed to last forever.
Created using an experimental acrylic pouring technique, the painting moves between areas of wild marbling and bold, almost concentric bands of color. Electric blue, hot pink, golden yellow, orange, green, brown and black collide across the canvas, creating something that feels part television static, part psychedelic landscape and part half-remembered childhood image.
The central formation appears almost as though a picture is trying to emerge through the interference—slightly distorted, wonderfully strange and impossible to completely identify.
And perhaps that's exactly how nostalgia works.
We rarely remember the whole picture.
We remember the colors.
The sounds.
The feeling.
